This week's challenge at The Pink Elephant is to use a sketch by Robin Willis.

Here is my take on the sketch. I used WorldWin papers DoubleMates Orange Dream embossed with the Cuttlebug Perfectly Paisley folder, an image from Altered Pages, rhinestone brads from S.E.I. and crocheted lace.

My oldest grandson (15) had his first track meet last weekend. He is doing the hurdles and the pole vault for the first time this year. He was also bumped up to JV! They only had a week and a half to practice before this meet, so I think he did pretty well considering; and I'm very proud of him. Here are a couple of pictures from each event.

Spring is nearly here.......

The weather is finally starting to show signs that winter is nearing it's end and spring is right around the corner. We reached a high of 70 two days ago. We've seen
robins and a cardinal and the tulips are poking their heads through the ground!!
But even though the days are not as cold and we're finally able to spend some time outdoors, I've still had time to get some layouts finished. This first one is from a
trip to Michigan a few years ago. The photos were taken by one of many waterfalls we
visited.

This second one is of my grandson, Levi just being silly; which he does so well!

This final layout shows some photos my husband took while on one of his fishing trips of an albino deer.

This week's challenge is to use buttons. I didn't want to use them as just an addition to a card or layout, so I decided to use buttons to create a creature.
And what better creature for spring than ducks? The beaks are tiny pieces of ribbon and the feet are Twistel.

Okay; so I had some time before the challenge at The Pink Elephant ends for this week and thought I'd play around with a card. The challenge this week is to use die cuts and ribbon. I love these papers and die cuts from My Mind's Eye.

Layout for Pink Elephant challenge

I thought I'd do a layout for this weeks challenge at Pink Elephant http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/ instead of a card. The challenge was to use die cuts and ribbon. I hand cut the trunk of the tree and used two punches for the branches and folliage.
