I'm published

It's been many years, but I've finally gotten another layout published in a scrapbooking magazine. My "Memories" layout is in the summer issue of Scrapbooking & Beyond. Now that the issue is on the stands, I can share it here. This is one of my favorite layouts; I'm so glad the editor felt the same way!

Johnny Depp sketch

I used to love to draw. As a little girl I drew all of the time! Give me a pad of paper and a pencil and I was happy. I took art all through high school working in a variety of mediums; but drawing with a pencil always remained my favorite. I haven't done any sketching for a very long time!! I don't know why; I guess life just got in the way. A friend in one of my Yahoo groups just shared a couple sketches she did which gave me the impetus to try again. I know I'm very rusty and this is far from
perfect, but I am finished with it. LOL I have stared at this picture and drawn it over and over again to the point where I think I'm just making it worse. I know I won't be waiting so long to try sketching again though.

40 Years together

My husband, Larry, and I recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. It's really hard to believe it's been that long! We started dating when I was only 14; and married when I was 18 and he was 20 (he had to have his parents sign for him! LOL) We had a great party with family and friends. These are some of the layouts I made for an album of the occasion.

40 Years together

Just like 40 years ago, we cut the cake together and "fed" each other some of it.

Butterfly ATC

My friend, Flo, created a series of butterfly ATC's (artist trading cards)and offered to swap for ATC's that others had made. I jumped at the chance to get one of these beauties! The colors are so soft, and the butterflies just speak "spring" to me. Thanks, Flo!

Where does the time go??

I can't believe it's been so long (again) since I've added anything here! Where does the time go? Well, I know that with spring comes a lot of outdoor activities; working in the yard and garden, going to my grandson's track meets, and planning for
our 40th wedding anniversary party (layouts to come). So I guess that could be part of the reason it's been a while. I've added a couple of layouts that I've done recently (I really must apologize for my goof with my grandson's "Tooth Fairy" layout; it was his BOTTOM two teeth he lost! Wonder how many of you caught that?!! LOL
I've also added some new songs to my playlist. I had a friend make a CD of some of my favorite love songs for our anniversary party and I added them as well here. I hope you enjoy listening to the music as you look at my art. I feel that the music that has meaning to me effects every part of my life; including my art. If you don't care for it, please feel free to turn down your volumn and just enjoy the sights.

Hollywood Comes to Columbus

Many Wisconsin sites are being used for the filming of the new Johnny Depp film; Public Enemies. My hubby and I went to see how the city was being transformed; going back to the 1930's. This is the first page in an album that I am doing on the filming in Columbus and other parts of the state.

Tooth Fairy

I love how this layout turned out! My grandson was only too happy
to show off his toothless grin when he lost two top teeth!
