Some recent layouts for calls, challenges and contests.
This is another layout that was done for a call at Scrapbook Trends. It wasn't picked up, but I'm glad that I've documented my family's favorite recipe!
Serendipity Scrapbooks recently held a weekend crop with lots of challenges all to
remind us of breast cancer awareness month. This first layout was for a challenge
about Princess Diana; using words from a quote of hers. I received a "Pick of the Day" award for this layout 10/27/09 at Serendipity.
We were also to create a candy bar wrapper using the same papers.
This layout was for a challenge using a poem by Maya Angelou.
This final layout is for a contest at Memory Making Crafts (a Halloween layout).

I needed a little push to work on some layouts, so I checked the latest calls at Scrapbook Trends and did these two Easter layouts to submit for the March issue. I
don't expect them to get picked up, but at least I finished a couple!
The first layout is with a picture of our Malamute, Shiloh when she was a puppy (about 75 pounds ago) and the second is with a picture of our granddaughter on Easter with her basket during the (indoor) egg hunt.

Some more challenges
I am having so much fun (and getting some layouts done at the same time) doing challenges this summer! The first one is for Memory Making Crafts. This one is based on this sketch.
The final layout is another one for a challenge at Serendipity Scrapbooks. The requirements for the challenge are to use a shaped background paper, some hand cutting, some hand or machine stitching, and layering. The picture is of our Malamute, Quinson, who was only with us for four years.

Where did summer go?
Where has summer gone?? The grandkids' baseball and soccer are finished, next week is our county fair and school starts on the first! I haven't had time to take even a long weekend away. Hopefully we will have a few days in September.
I have gotten a few layouts finished though. This first layout was for a challenge at Serendipity Scrapbooks which required fringing. I fringed the round flowers and the strips in the lower, left.
I did some stamping on this layout. The birds and the wispy flowers are stamped and some are cut out and added with foam tape.
The next layout was also done for a challenge at Serendipity Scrapbooks. For this one we were to create a border using non-typical scrapbooking items. I used some ephemera and images from Altered Pages for mine.
This final layout was another challenge at Serendipity Scrapbooks. We were to create a layout similar to one that was shown which used a LOT of hand cutting and layering.
The inspiration layout can be seen here.......

And here is my take on it:
Finally, I altered a puzzle piece for a friend. This was a large, floor puzzle piece. Her theme was freestyle (anything goes) using the colors of pink/mauve/black and a lime/sage green.

Some things I've been working on.......
I've found a little time to work on a couple of cards and some layouts between the
grandkids' baseball and soccer games. The first is a card that I made with the leftover papers from the Prima layout that is in the previous post.
This second item is a quick card I made for a baby shower. The text is a sticker. I put both pieces of colored cardstock through my Sizzix with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.
This two page layout shows how we transformed what was a screened in storage area under one bedroom in our house into a four season hot tub room.
This layout is of my great grandparents homestead. I used a challenge that a friend had on a blog for which she is a design team member which included lots of fussy cut work and layering. I've added two close ups to try to show the dimension with this layout.
This last layout is of my grandson, Hunter on his first day of preschool. I didn't take the photos, so you can't blame me for the "antlers" it looks like he's wearing in the large photo.

I had time.............
I was surprised that I had time to work on a couple of layouts over the weekend. This one is a couple of old school photos.I used some Daisy D's papers and punched
flowers from Rusty Pickle and Creative Imaginations papers and a Scenic Route arrow.
This layout was done with a new paper pack by Prima. I really like how it turned out!
